Mountains You Can see from the Top of the Banff Gondola

From the top of the Banff Gondola on Sulphur Mountain, you can see several prominent mountains and ranges within the Canadian Rockies.

Mount Rundle

Location of Mount Rundle: To the southeast of Sulphur Mountain.
Features: Mount Rundle is one of the most recognizable peaks in the Banff area, with its long, sloping ridge that stretches nearly 12 kilometers (7.5 miles). Its dramatic, saw-toothed appearance makes it a favorite for photographers.

Cascade Mountain

Location of Cascade Mountain: Directly north of the Banff townsite.
Features: Cascade Mountain is another iconic peak, easily identifiable by its steep, cascading slopes. It stands tall at 2,998 meters (9,836 feet) and is often seen looming over the town of Banff.

Mount Bourgeau

Location of Mount Bourgeau: To the west of Banff, visible across the Bow Valley.

Mount Norquay

Mount Aylmer

Fairholme Range

Location of Fairholme Range: East of Banff, across the Bow River.

Lake Minnewanka Area Mountains

Location: Northeast of Banff.

Sulphur Mountain Range

Location of the Sulphur Mountain Range: Surrounding the gondola and summit area.
Features: Sulphur Mountain itself is part of a larger range, and you can see other nearby peaks and ridges that are part of this formation.
